Travel information from Manila

If you are arriving in Manila it will depend on the time that you are arriving and the plans that you have for your trip as to what you will do and where you will stay. If you arrive in Manila before 13:00 then I suggest getting out of the hustle and bustle of Metro Manila and head straight for Batangas and White Beach. If you are arriving in Manila after 13:00 then it is advisable to stay in Manila for the night and enjoy the busyness that is Manila. There are a few places that we recommend that you can look at staying but once again depending on your budget and your plans. Citystate Tower Hotel,Bar Amazonia and City Gardens, all being in Mabini and all being extremely well priced and fairly near the airport and bus stations (approximately 20 mins by taxi), I do suggest booking in advance for these hotels as they are popular and the discounts that you receive through internet bookings are worth the extra few minutes having a look.

There are numerous regular bus services leaving from the major bus terminals in Manila to bring you to Batangas pier. The cheapest being JACK Bus Liners and you will pay in the region of Php166 to Batangas Pier. The most convenient and safest ones are operated by SIKAT Bus. SIKAT Departure time is daily at 09.00. from the City State Tower Hotel, Mabini Street, Ermita, Manila. The SIKAT service will bring you directly to Puerto Galera, Balatero Pier.

If you arrive after the last Banka (boat) has left, then you have one of two options. The first being that you hire a private Banker that will go by night in what they call Night Navigation and that is what it is, but if the weather is slightly windy then the trip across will be really rough and dangerous, besides the cost being somewhere around Php2000- 3000 per person. The best option is to find yourself a resort or hotel to stay at, the Travelers Inn is a cheap option that is near the pier, costing in the region of Php600 - 800 for the night. This accommodation is nothing fancy but is clean, cheap and easy to get to and from the pier.

If you wish to arrange your own transportation to Batangas pier, there are several ferry services available to get you to White Beach and Puerto Galera Town . Guarded parking is available at the Batangas pier. The best Bankers to try and get are the MSL bankers (Golden Hawks, Osprey, Falcon, Etc) and Brian's. The trip across will cost you around Php300 including Pier Taxes and Environmental Taxes for Puerto Galera. All three are separate booths. Watch out for the baggage people (Porters) as they will just grab bags and carry them without your consent then expect money for the work they have done. Don't give more than Php50 if you want them to help. Make sure that you inform the Banka counter, as you are paying, that you will be coming to White Beach so they will drop you on white Beach rather than Mulle. The last ferry will leave Batangas by 16.30 - 17:30 depending on the season and the weather.

If you arrive in Mulle, take a jeepney or Tricycle to White Beach . Approximately 2, 5 miles from White Beach. The cost of the tricycles should be in the region of Php100 from Mulle.
